Unable to download media player on ps4

I'm using a sub-account, and when I go to 'all apps' in the PS store, I can't find the mediaplayer app. But when I insert a usb device with some music in it creating a folder named 'Music' at the root of the storage device and putting the files in that folder the ps4 detects it and the mediaplayer icon pops right up between the icons of 'what's new?
